Caversham Park

My husband, our 15-month-old daughter, and I are considering a move to Caversham, as he'll be commuting into London three days a week.

We'd love to hear from anyone who knows the Caversham Park area. What are your thoughts on it as a place to live, particularly for young families?

Any advice on good roads or pockets of the area to focus on (or avoid) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It's considered one of the nicer parts of "Greater Reading" but as far as commuting to London goes, getting to Reading Station can be a right pain.

It's lovely for children, a good choice of schools and you can get everywhere without having to cross a road. It's a very safe area with lots of green space and the beautiful marina at the bottom of the road, loads of wildlife! Easy bus journey to Reading Station but traffic can be a bit grim at rush hour especially when the council keep digging the roads up!

It's about 2.5 miles to the station, which would be a about a 40 minute walk. Free exercise or a PITA, depending on how you look at it.
