Freestanding kitchen

So excited, just had an offer accepted on a house we love. It’s Victorian and an unusual shape, with a large kitchen.

However the few cupboards, cooker and and worktop space are under the stairs also one wall. Current owners have fridge and big dresser, table with kettle on other side of the room, table in the middle.

Does anyone have design inspo pics or tips in organising this type of room on a budget?

Unfitted kitchen?

I think they're great. IMO it's about finding things you like and trying to make it cohesive. Lots of things online about it!

I had a large kitchen with a small run of work top due to two doors and 2 windows. Although did fit a large larder cupboard in and a wall hung dresser top for plates, but apart from that I did all the baking etc. on the big kitchen table.
It was a lovely character kitchen.

Just attached floor plan. There’s not much plumbing or space for appliances, washing machine is in the porch/vestibule area and hoping to put dishwasher there if can’t get into the kitchen somehoe

I love an unfitted kitchen! Just search on instagram or Pinterest and you’ll find loads of ideas

For a Victorian kitchen, I’d try not to make it feel too fitted. Freestanding pieces like a dresser, larder cupboard, prep table or small island could work?

If budget is tight, I’d keep plumbing and appliances where they are where possible, as that will get expensive quickly!

For extra worktop space, it may be worth asking local stone suppliers about quartz or granite offcuts. They can be useful for smaller areas, shelves or a freestanding prep surface.
