Do extendable curtain poles fit together for extra length?

Does anyone know if 2 standard extendable curtain poles would fit together to make an extra long pole?

I'm struggling to find a 4m pole in antique brass.

Or somewhere that does bespoke lengths?

Merrick-day.com but I don't think they do brass. They do bronze

The extending poles I’ve used wouldn’t work with another over a larger distance. There could be options I’m unaware of though.

A 4 metre pole will definitely need a centre bracket so joining 2x 2m ones should work

I'm going to test the theory at weekend and see if two poles I already have fit together.. I'll report back if anyone is interested 😅
