What's your Grand Designs dream house?

Mine would be an eco build, as self contained energy wise as possible. On a hillside conveniently near town, with great glass windows overlooking the view. A big kitchen space with a wood burning stove (I know I know - not very eco) and 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom with a secret staircase up to a rooftop viewing seating area to look at the stars.

I'd have a natural swimming pool too....

Ooh, I'll have a salt water or oxygen cleaned heated pool please (sorry not eco but can't do cold water). To make up for it a small rustic house built of stone and wood beams, like a mini barn conversion or croft, with logburner too and distant view of the sea set in a field so i can have hens and grow food. 😌

Mine would have a lift - I am disabled and dh has MS so may become disabled in the future, but we both like sleeping upstairs. It would be somewhere fairly rural, with lots of good dog-walking spots nearby.

Downstairs, I’d have a big craft room cum office cum library - room for all my books and craft supplies, plus a big table for cutting out and sewing clothing, and a seating area with comfy chairs and a tv, so I can sit and knit.

Oh - and it would have plenty of storage and a fairly big kitchen, and the utility room would also have a shower so dh could wash the dogs when they’ve rolled in something unspeakable.

A big bedroom for us, with a balcony and a big en suite.

Money no object ?

I’d like an indoor pool and enough money for its upkeep. Maybe a sauna as well.
I would have five beds, three bathrooms and nice landscaped garden. Its own plot of land and a nice new kitchen, lots of granite and those big lights you get over an island with a dining room combined.
I do love the grand designs programme. They sometimes do arch type things for the walls which look good rather than square doors.
