Has anyone got any tips for increasing your chances of being accepted for a rental property?
My husband and I are currently looking to rent a family home and this is now the third property we’ve viewed and applied for. We both work, have good references, no pets, and are looking for a long-term home rather than a short-term rental.
For the latest property, we viewed on Saturday, sent a follow-up email explaining how much we loved the house and why it would suit our family, and completed all the application paperwork the same day it was sent to us.
I’m due to start working at the local school in September, which is one of the reasons we want to move to the area.
Is there anything else we can do to stand out to landlords? Do personal letters actually make a difference? Or does it all come down to income and references?
Would love to hear from landlords, letting agents, or anyone who’s successfully secured a rental in a competitive market. The waiting is awful!
