Microcement kitchen counter tops - yay or nay?

We are debating getting micro cement kitchen counter tops, we’d get them professionally installed, but have heard mixed reviews.
If you have them, would you recommend them? The kitchen esthetic is midcentury modern and my ideal material would be enameled lava stone - but my budget won’t allow it.

It’s porous so needs thorough sealing and regular resealing. And the sealant can be damaged by heat. So it’s a bit high maintenance.

If you’re happy with grey then I’d go for honed granite - granite is much more bombproof. The material is more expensive but the installation is pricey with cement so guessing they may balance out (I don’t know for sure).

Thank you! That’s really helpful.
