Please help a novice with some shelves

I’m am so tired and frustrated I could cry. I have bought brackets and scaffold boards to install plank shelves. The brackets are lined up, when I test them with a test plank they are level. The scaffold boards are (while probably not 100 .%. They aren’t reclaimed ones, they should be fairly straight?)
when i slot the boards in only 2 of the brackets fit and the third one doesn’t and the board will not go into it, it just rests on the top.

so why won’t it fit?????

I now have 6 brackets on my wall and 2 shelves and I have spent a fortune , why won’t they work!! It must be something to do with the angles?! But what??? if I buy a wood plane and take the edge off the planks would that work? I feel like the whole plank needs to drop in in one attempt

please help me, I am not a natural DIY-er and this is so frustrating!

Any chance of a photo? I'm not quite getting what is going wrong

Do you have a level gauge?

As above, a photo would make it a lot clearer as at the mo, I am a little confused.🤔

Scaffold boards are never fully flat. Might have to play by the ear on this one.
