Shutters for sash windows

Hello, looking to fit shutters just on lower portion of bay sash windows (upper portion of window is stained glass so don't want to cover). Any thoughts on companies, whether to go for real v faux wood and the style of shutters that look best? I've seen some houses where the shutters seem too 'chunky' for the window and look a bit wrong. Are there are alternatives to shutters I should consider? I have had nets for years but wanted a 'cleaner' look. Thank you!

We used Shutterly Fabulous.
According to the invoice in my emails, ours were

"Manufactured from premium grade Poplar hardwood, finished in silk white UV protected paint, with white hinges, 76mm slats with hidden concealed rods"

They've been in for ten years and look like new.
