Ongoing bathroom saga — advice?

I’ve had an absolute saga with my new bathroom involving moments of badness and scrupulousness from my renovators. First they hired a fitter who was bad and he spent three weeks doing my bathroom only for them to have to uninstall it all and redo it after having sacked him.

Then we moved in and the shower was set to only draw hot water and the sink was leaking. They came back immediately to fix both.

Now I’ve got problems with my actual fixtures. Some nice screw covers that obviously got prised off as they redid things are all mangled and I want them to get new ones. Also — is the button on the side of the shower that goes between top shower and side shower meant to press down? Is it reasonable to keep asking them to fix these last little bits.

If that's a thermostatic shower tap, that button is probably to allow the tap to go hotter. Does the water get really hot on the shower?

That’s the other side. This side is for changing it between the overhead shower and the little shower. I’m not sure if the button is supposed to pop. At the moment it doesn’t move.

In theory they should really fix the caps if they damaged them taking them off.

In practice you might find it easier to find the shower manufacturer and just order some new spares and replace them yourself.

Possibly not then. Can you switch between them? The button might just be decorative for symmetry.
