Got put into temporary accommodation on Friday, and wondered what happens next? Anyone with recent experience or is housing literally luck of the draw? I had to leave permanent accommodation due to really bad ASB (racial harassment) woman called from the council this morning basically scoffing that there's 250 people in temp and I'm at the bottom of the list. Another woman then came to sign contracts and advised me under no circumstances give up the social tenancy on my flat as the housing association should arrange a management move with them (could be moved in weeks or months, apparently), she also advised that people are staying up to 2 years currently in temp. I'm also in touch with the local MP who is advocating for me as the council and housing association did nothing during the three years this went on. I have no idea what to do, put my faith in housing? Or try with HS both has screwed me over and I don't trust. Does anyone have recent experience with MBC housing or even inside knowledge. I don't want to give up my social tenancy and I'm a single mum who's a student with four children, overthinking my next steps massively as I don't want to make things worse.
