5 burner gas hob vs 4 burner

Hi, I'm changing our kitchen and have looked in to gas hobs so much I've confused myself.
I was going to go with a 5 burner hob but read that most people hardly use them all. But it's it better to have 5 and not use them all than go with 4 and need 5 on occasion?

Is the 5 burner hob bigger? That's then benifit for us - we can have bigger pans on the top without it being a juggle, because we have the additional half oven and burner.
So, while we rarely (never?) use all the rings, there are definitely times when it is much easier because we have the extra space to juggle it all.

I have a 5 burner 100cm wide range. I like it - the wok burner (5th one) is also great for really large pans. Also acts as a space to take hot pans out oven when not using and like a pp said there is just generally more space.

yeah i have a five burner and although I never use all five at the same time, sometimes i use 4, and the extra space is needed. It's hard to fit a decent size casserole or frying pan across one small ring.

Yes, this. And yesterday I used a piece of kit across two burners.

Does it have to be gas? Induction is brilliant - just as controllable with additional features, easy to clean and serves as additional workspace when not in use. Some induction hobs have flexible rings you can use for larger pans, etc.

Agree with the above even if you rarely use them all at the same time, the extra space is helpful. I used to just use the burners I wasn't using to put hot pans on if something needed to come out of the oven for example.
