Considering moving to Mossley

I'm hoping this might reach some residents of Mossley, Tameside. We're a family of 3 (hoping to be 4 in the near future) with a dog. We're considering moving to Bottom Mossley but I'm a bit worried about what I've read online. I appreciate you will always get good and bad and people have differing opinions. But from what I've read it sounds like the area is a little deprived. We currently live in what I'd call a rough town with high crime and we really want to move away from the antisocial behaviour we've unfortunately faced. We're not from the North so have little geography knowledge. We would love to move to Saddleworth but houses prices are so high it's either out of our budget or we would need to significantly down size which would be almost impossible if we have another child. Any advice about Mossley or the surrounding areas would be appreciated.

DD lived in Top Mossley for a while, that seemed OK, apart from the steepness (she was in Mountain Street, it deserved its name!). No idea about Bottom Mossley, sorry.
She is in Stalybridge now which is fine - everything quite convenient - though her road is only 5 minutes from the station and has unlimited parking, so that can be hit and miss if you live there.
There is a lovely big park with children's playgrounds just a short walk away too.

Mossley is a little deprived compared to Saddleworth but it’s got lots of community activity and arguably is friendlier and down to earth than parts of Saddleworth. I lived in bottom Mossley, close to the canal and went on lovely walks & bike rides daily along the canal and the bridle path. You could look into Carrbrook too which is more expensive than Mossley but still cheaper than Saddleworth.

Have you considered bury, rawtenstall ramsbottom?
I have family there and very happy. Not az deer as saddleworth or manchester

Think top Mossley is seen as nicer. Have you looked into Glossop? It’s particularly nice in the older parts.

Gee Cross is quiet. Where are you moving from? Stalybridge could be a compromise.

The villages outside Uppermill tend to be cheaper.
