Rotten door surround

Ive been spring cleaning the front of my house today and discovered that the wood surround around my front door is completely rotten...as is the windowsill on my living room window...should i get someone in to replace all the wood and repaint or replace the door and window in upvc...door and window have seen better days so will need replacing at some point anyway...thanks in advance for any advice.

Will add pics to try and explain what i mean.
The bottom and top bits of the front door are rotten...went to clean them and they broke off in my hand.

If you remove the rotten bit by breaking it off until you get to solid wood you can buy external wood filler which is like a 2 part epoxy resin typed thing in a tin which you can use to fill the hole and then just paint over it.
Its a very easy diy job.

I would also check your gutters are working properly next time you get heavy rain because the window sill and door frame shouldnt be getting wet enough to rot if the gutters are working properly and they are properly painted.
