Beautiful house…renovated by Netflix?

This came up in my idle browsing today. What’s going on with the Netflix ads? Never seen anything like it! Lovely house though.

one of our local estate agents seems to do this with some of their houses too. That house is lovely but no side on the staircase?

Lovely - Netflix - house, but that road is so busy. I wouldn't want to live on it.

KatiePricesKnickers · 17/03/2026 06:22

Looking at the old street view, someone has spent a fortune on the renovation.
Unfortunately very busy road.

What Netflix ads? You mean having Netflix on the TVs? It’s just to have something on the screen that’s all. Quite common.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 17/03/2026 06:42

I’ve never seen anything on the screen on a house listing.

Also, looking at the floor plan and pictures 13&14, is that a window into the shower cubicle (and therefore the rest of the bathroom through the shower cubicle) in the bedroom? It’s not the door, that’s next to it. Weird.

Looks like it. That’s weird.

That’s hilarious, sort of makes the whole thing feel a bit ‘cheap’ with those Netflix ads. Strange move I agree. I do however like the house! 😊

My first thoughts, too. Isn't that illegal? You'd have to install a bannister.
The house isn't to my taste, but it's very smart and finished to a high standard.

Yes, it's a strange one! I don't even have Netflix, so wouldn't be swayed by that staging!

Bought for £430k in 2018, obviously spent a lot on renovations but that is quite the jump.

If it’s existing it doesn’t have to conform to to current building regulations

I used to have a staircase in my terrace house it was literally vertical no way it would conform to building regulations but it was built like that so it could stay like that

Nicecatneighbour · 17/03/2026 07:03

Very busy road, right opposite village school.
Nicely done interiors, though.

I think I'd install a bannister, rather than spend 9 hours at A&E 😊!
