Letting Agent

My old flat (premarriage) is let out. Long-term tenant. Tenant found by the agent. Rent collected by the agent. Flat managed by the agent.

The agent has had some noise complaints and has asked me to deal with it! I've never met the tenant and haven't been in the flat since I moved out.

Surely this is what I pay the agent for?

I agree, agents job

ELCismyspiritnana · 13/03/2026 13:19

Yes, as a former letting agent, this is for them to deal with.

saveforthat · 13/03/2026 13:21

Of course that is their job. I can't believe they suggested otherwise.

I thought so too. Right. Pistols at dawn!

Thank you

I had noise complaints about a tenant. The agents dealt with it.

Talking as an experienced landlord - this is the agents job - this is what you pay them to do.

They should be dealing with this. Not you.
