Anyone know about peeling kitchens?

its new - only 3 years old. I’m not sure if it’s got some sort of protective plastic cover that should have been removed or whether the unit is literally peeling. If so, it’s going to look terrible!

but I’ve never had a new kitchen before and so don’t know what to expect. I was hoping someone here might know?

What’s the surface like underneath where it has peeled off? Some do come with protective wrapping

did you get the kitchen fitted yourself and can you contact the suppliers? If you had it fitted it should have warranty

That looks like a plastic cover to me. Mine had that all over but it was a blue plastic. I actually got annoyed that instead of grey it was a bluish colour until I realised.

Can you have a look at a piece that’s not too visible and try to peel it off?

That looks like the protective covering, your fitter should have peeled it off when they finished fitting it. Maybe they just missed a bit.

I remember there was a lot of blue tape on edgings that needed to be removed after I moved in. In fact, I just spotted one I missed just now while I was looking up at the fixings here, which I think might be quite tricky to remove the plastic at the top because I can’t see that it screwed in and I think it must be glued, which will make it painfully difficult to remove the plastic.

Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to do that on the corners where the end board is fixed?
