Ideas on splitting a room without building a partition wall?

We will probably build a partition wall in the future when more necessary, but for now, what would be the best way to split a room into 2 bedrooms for children (8 year age gap). A lot of people use kallax units but I'm not sure if they provide a good level of privacy? Also unsure what to do around the door, as there will obviously be only one entry into the room/s. How would you go about this?
