New bathroom before rewire. Bad idea?

I need to renovate the bathroom in my house. At the moment it is in such run down condition that I can barely stand anyone outside the family to see it. it really is that bad. I also intend to rewire the house but was hoping to put aside money for that over the next couple of years.

Would it be a terrible idea to do the bathroom now and the whole house rewire in a year or two?

I was thinking that fixing up the bathroom would be such a lift to us that it might help motivate us to tackle other areas.

Will you want a power shower? If so, then the current wiring might not be up to it.

You don’t necessarily need to do a rewire in one go. Out of necessity we did ours in stages, so you can get an electrician to see if it is possible to just upgrade part in relation to the bathroom.

We did that with our kitchen, the kitchen was almost non existent so had to be done quickly, so we had the writing for that done but not the whole house. That came later and involved taking the dining room ceiling down.

You can do it in phases - so when you have the bathroom ripped out get it done then!
