We are hunting everywhere for trackless sliding glass doors but can’t seem to find any in the uk . Has anyone got some , from where . Do you rate them ?

What do you mean by trackless? Top hung?

Caspianberg · 07/02/2026 05:21

Thy will all have tracks, otherwise they won’t work. Just some will be built into wall so they aren’t visible ( costs a lot more)

I am having a pocket door put in -wish I had more of them -expensive but fab space saving solution.

As @Caspianberg says, there must be a track. Otherwise what’s holding them up?!

Either that or the videos are AI fakes.

DavidPeckham · 07/02/2026 06:55

As others have said, there must be a track otherwise they’d just fall over. Our ones that I installed are top hung and the track is well concealed within the header, but if you stand under them and look up then you’ll see it. Maybe post some photos or links of the ones you’ve seen from abroad?

Pocket doors have tracks inside the wall -is that c what you mean?

Caspianberg · 07/02/2026 07:03

@cleo333 - they must have tracks. Otherwise you have what, just panels of floating glass not attached to anything?

like someone above said, most will be pocket doors so you basically take out old door frames and space either side and rebuilt whole wall area with ‘pocket’ space for doors to slide into seamlessly. The track will be in wall above and then plastered and painted to hide

We put a pocket door on our ensuite. It slides inside the wall, there's no track on the floor and you can't see the upper track as there is a door trim around the opening, like on a normal door. The built in wardrobes have tracks bottom and top, but the top are behind trim too. The bathroom one is this. kind.

Do you mean that the track is hidden rather than being face fixed to the wall?
Have a look at Rocket Doors or Eclisse

I wanted to install Eclisse as that looked like a better system but it takes up more room than Rocket and I don't have enough space.

You build a timber or steel framed wall and then fit the pocket door system into the hole (they give you a size and you add tolerance - the foot must sit at finished floor level also) then cover with plasterboard.

The do systems which have architraves and others which don't. Also some very fancy frameless glass ones.
