Nationwide mortgage / Underwriting

Does anyone happen to work for Nationwide mortgages / underwriting?

We have put in a mortgage application, the DIP was a refer, then proceed to application. It’s gone to the underwriters as expected.

Today we have received a text to say valuation booked for next week. Do they tend to underwrite then book valuation or do they do them at the same time?

underwriting just means approving. If you have a DIP, it will be reviewed every time something is received, and then finally approved if all ok. So they will have requested everything at once, and it will go to an underwriter to check against the DIP when things come in. HTH

Just read the refer part. Unlikely they would have requested valuation unless it was checked by an underwriter first

Thanks, I understand what underwriting is, and we’ve had some credit blips in the past we’ve fully declared, and expected a refer due to this.

Just wondering if like you say they would book a valuation if they weren’t happy so far.
