Quoted 10k for rendering

Basically we are looking to get some home improvements and property maintenance done.

We been quoted 10K for rendering 3 side and the porch area + window sills.

We are based in the north west. Does this sound ok… the problem is it is a neighbour who has quoted us and I feel really awkward if we get someone else In as he will see we have gotten the work done with someone else.

I’d tell him you are getting at least two other quotes
Its perfectly normal

Before you use him think about what you are going to do if things go wrong

It sounds expensive to me but on the assumption the scaffolding is included and its a 2storey property it’s within margins for an average 3/4 bed semi but at the high end. I have never worked in the NWest though

ps. Make sure the render is breathable or you could face damp issues in the future

That sounds reasonable to me. Do get other like for like quotes, but honestly, without more specific detail, that seems fair.

Depends, are they taking off old render? Is it in lime rather than cement (necessary for old properties)? Is it a 2 storey house or taller?

Is the property already rendered? or why do you want render? When the house next door was developed it was rendered and I can tell you it covered up bad looking brickwork and where they changed windows it’s just breeze blocks underneath. I always think it’s hiding something, it is next door.

So this is the quote. I’ll be honest is was about £2000 more then I was expecting. But that is just from a simple google search and so I know it’s probably not accurate x
