How much for gutter cleaning in your area?

Im in a rented, end of terrace, thinking I probably need to the gutters done as not had them done since we moved in a few years ago but no idea of the cost or what would be reasonable (I will of course ring and get quotes but my area is notorious for workmen who like to add on lots of extras on a small job, so keen to get an approximate price)

£60 large detached house

Chewbecca · 24/01/2026 18:50

Never had them done in my life & have been a homeowner for nearly 40 years!

Classworking · 25/01/2026 18:22

Thank you both

Im on a tree lined street and the pavements are full of leaves, blocking the drains, in the autumn so I imagine my gutters aren’t in a much better state!

Nothing, we climb ladders and do them ourselves about twice a year, but I would imagine about £100.

MotorbikeStuntRider · 25/01/2026 18:48

20 quid.

£60 4 bed end terrace. They stick a camera up to take photos once they have done the work.

£80 in November 2024, similar house. Totally worth it, I had a buddleia growing up there (!)

We had water ingress last summer after heavy downpours and had to get gutters cleaned as it was so bad. There was so much debris in the gutters! We now have gutter cleaning appointment every 6 months.

Not carrying out basic maintenance on your home isn’t quite the flex you think it is.

60 quid for a guy with a gutter hoover, it's bloody fascinating to watch. I'd spend 60 just to watch them doing someone else's tbf

How so?

Singleoldermum · 25/01/2026 21:18

Gutter clearing is the responsibility of your landlord, I think? At least as a landlord I pay for my houses to have the gutters cleared. It's in my interest to keep the houses well maintained.

Classworking · 26/01/2026 15:48

The landlord hasn’t offered so I imagine it’s down to me but I don’t mind paying for it.
I would also pay £60 to watch someone clean them and quite often do watch similar videos on social media 😌

This we do it every year basic maintenance. It’s also easy enough to put gutter guard in which is what we have done. Stops all the leaves. But once a year in October is the minimum for a look and see.

Catsservant · 26/01/2026 15:54

someone knocked on our door (4 bed detached) said he would do them for 250.00 not a chance!

muddyford · 26/01/2026 15:57

Paid £50 a year ago. Five bed detached, southwest.

TheTVisneverbigenough · 26/01/2026 15:57

160 with maintanance. Pricey... Justyo note it did include very minor repair so maybe that's fair.
I wouldn't pay on rental, it's up to landlord, the owner, if he keeps his asset well.

thecatdidit · 26/01/2026 15:58

My DH does this for a living, £50/£60 for both sides of a terraced house, although it does depend on access. (If it's a very tall town house it would be much more)

Classworking · 26/01/2026 17:48

Thanks all.
It’s a typical Edwardian, end of terrace, no guttering at the end that I can see so just the front and back.
Will get some quotes but I’m glad to have a rough price in mind

Our local window cleaning firm does it for £80 or £60 if the firm also cleans your windows.

Gabitule · 19/03/2026 19:49

I just paid my window cleaner £30 to do my gutters (3 bed terraced). He is cheaper than average

MrsCarmelaSoprano · 19/03/2026 19:53

That's the LL's responsibility,not a tenant's.

Ours is £99 and they do it with a big dalek, hoover and video screen.
