Considering this house. It’s £350k. It would be our family home and is considerably bigger than where we have lived for the past 8 years.

Do you have a link so we can see the floor plan?

Arlanymor · 21/01/2026 19:30

Bit hard to give an opinion without the floorplan. Also what does the outside look like and where is it? All these things matter.

cowslick · 21/01/2026 19:32

Well, it's certainly spacious.... I'd have to see the front of the house before passing judgement.

biggestcatmom · 21/01/2026 19:34

It looks spacious, can you post the link for a better look

YouDriveMeCrazyButICanDoThatMyself · 21/01/2026 19:37

It doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks, does it suit your family?

I personally wouldn’t buy house with so much wall panelling, the walls will be a state if you ever remove it and re plastering will cost a fortune, and the mess is unbelievable.
I also wouldn’t have a log burner due to the significant harm to lung health, and it’s hardly an attractive feature with the washing machine next to it even if you love log burners.
weird set up in the lounge, with the sofa in the corner and then the odd chairs and coffee table area.

Soonenough · 21/01/2026 19:38

How many bedrooms for how many people ? So much depends on where , good amenities, schools , area . It looks like a nice house not much more we can say.

PerspicaciaTick · 21/01/2026 19:38

I can't work out the layout, like where the bit of orange chaise long fits in to the room layout. Also the furniture is oddly sized - is it currently unfurnished but staged for photos? Something a little uncanny about the lack of personality and uncomfortable seats and tiny bedside tables.
A floor plan would definitely help.

TwoKidsNoClue · 21/01/2026 19:40

It only let me post 5 photos at a time but I was a bit dubious about posting the link with it having the address on if we do move! This is front of house and floor plan

Whoever put that washing machine next to the fire place needs shooting!!

TwoKidsNoClue · 21/01/2026 19:43

There’s me, my husband and 2 children. There is a log burner in the living room and the kitchen - I do agree it is odd next to the washing machine! It’s just a man who lives alone there at the moment, in one half of the living room is the sofa the other he has that little table. We would probably have kids toys etc there. I don’t think he spends a lot of time there.

I was going to say that, is it a real log burner @TwoKidsNoClue pretty sure that’s not compliant.

TwoKidsNoClue · 21/01/2026 19:46

Yeah it’s real!

I’m not ever so keen on the panelling, but it is lovely and spacious and appears to be in good condition.Nice bathroom. Plenty of space in garden and scope to make it more interesting.

TwoKidsNoClue · 21/01/2026 19:54

No I’m not a massive lover of the panelling either - what is the point in it? I would definitely paint and add a lot more colour, new carpets, shelves and pictures up etc

so many factor to consider so not sure what you are wanting to achieve from what do we think. Homes are a lot more than cosmetic, and in reality that’s what you are asking us about.

what’s important to you?
what’s the location like?
etc

Also, if it’s considerably bigger than you are used to, have you factored in costs for hearing, maintenance, garden and so on?

Have you you viewed it. My advice is view lots of properties, some your not sure about online, and that will help you define what’s important to you and which you can make your home.

HappyFace2025 · 21/01/2026 20:03

Certainly looks spacious judging by the floor plan. Not knowing where it is I couldn't say if it is good value or not!

Petrine · 21/01/2026 20:18

It looks lovely. A perfect family home.

MiddleAgedDread · 21/01/2026 21:18

It seems to be lacking in built in cupboards-
where do things like coats and shoes, the hoover and the ironing board live?
the utility room also looks small and if there’s a washing machine in the dining room it suggests it’s jot
big enough. It almost feels too open plan for a 4bed house?
a lot of house for the price though!

chunkyBoo · 21/01/2026 21:59

I can’t believe how cheap it is! Looks good to me for a family

You do realise with the image alone someone can find it in seconds? Reverse google image search brings up the listing.
