Taking delivery of a new bath

If I buy a new bath where does the delivery driver deliver it to? Does he bring it into the house for me? I've never bought a new bath before.

It depends- check the terms. Some are “kerbside”, some are “2 man delivery” who tend to come in.

Kerbside is what ive always had.

Always have workmen on-site to take it into the house.

Very important to also unwrap it and check for damage before accepting the delivery.

Could you check with the company? We had a really heavy piece of furniture delivered once (meant to be a 2 man delivery), and it was almost left in the street because he was "on his own"; I had to convince the man to use his trolley things, and at least leave it indoors. I was on my own with a toddler! Dh, and I had a terrible time moving it after that!

Depends who you buy it from and what their delivery terms are. I once had a bathroom order delivered as ‘kerb side delivery’, and they literally did just dump it on the busy public pavement. It was pretty bad.

Same as other parcels. You might get a help lifting it inside. A bath wont be heavy, if it's a plastic or fibre glass one. If it's a steel or cast iron one then that'd need more planning! It'll also come to no harm if you leave it in the back garden a while if you don't need it cluttering up the place

I've found 2 companies that will do 2 man delivery to a room of my choice, namely, B&Q and the Big Bathroom Shop. Will keep looking just to see if there are any others but I think I should just stick to what I've found so far. Thanks.
