White painted or plastic velux?

Posted the other day but no replies 😢 We’ve now decided on most of the things we were pondering, but am stuck on whether to go for white painted or plastic.

We are drawn in by the no maintenance (especially as I have chronic illness) but it’s super hard to tell online what the finish is like. Just from the online pics the wood looks much nicer, but maybe it’s better irl? Thoughts? Anyone with the plastic ones that can comment on the finish?

Also does anyone know if the wood ones really need repainting after 2-4 years. They seems quite a short timescale.

Thank you!

Wood will need maintaining, and painting every 5-7 yrs unless particularly exposed. Wood will last 70-100yrs.
UPVC will last 10-15 years then need replacing.
persoanly, I would alway opt for wood. Its healthier, looks nicer and lasts longer

Wood for sure, unless it is a modern house, wood will look so much better.
