Help me choose! Emergency Velux :-)

Having to have a leaking Velux replaced, so having to decide quickly.

We currently have wood veluxes, which I like as they are warm and contrast with white ceilings. Are they a bit dated now though?

So not sure if we should go for the same, or white painted, or even one of the new plastic coated ones to reduce maintenance? The latter mainly as we are struggling able to keep up with home maintenance at all (hence windows failing on us) due to chronic illness. Not sure if they will just look awful though 🤔

And do we go for solar opening (it's a window on a high ceiliing) or is that a waste of £££ when we can just use a pole?

Would welcome opinions and, if you are happy to share, pics of your veluxes!

Thank you!

I am no expert @SomewhatAgile but as you haven't had a reply, and as a previous owner of a single Velux window in an attic room (used as a guest bedroom), I would say go for pole opening as solar is bound to go wrong in the end. And if maintenance cost is an issue, then go for the type which is most durable, regardless of how it looks - it's just one window high up, so not that important aesthetically, I'm guessing?
