Is this roof repair ok?

I accepted a quote for £700 to fix a leak and replace surrounding felt on the roof of my 80s bungalow.
ChatGPT says it’s a sloppy and temporary repair!
Roofer used bigger batons than original he says due to regulations? I think that’s pushed all the tiles out.
Do you think I’ll need to get it re done?
He says he’s fixed the leak and it will no longer leak so he’s says it’s fine.
He also left nails, used coffee cups and cigarette butts knowing I had a dog and a huge chunk of tile in the gutter.

Bump for your thread.

I think he has probably fixed the leak but he has used the wrong tiles and definitely shouldn't have left broken tiles in the gutter. Also seems pricey for half a days work. Did he get scaffolding?

Did they replace the felt from inside the loft and remove old felt?

The tiles look like a temporary job but your options would to be to get a roofer to look at it a d ask if fit for purpose? Quote and re-do? It probably isn't worth the stress of small claims court for £700.

Ask around who people have used, check Trustpilot etc

This. Though sometimes getting the exact same materials for anything is virtually impossible. In summary a fairly shoddy job, but the upside, it shouldn't leak anymore.

It's a total bodge and you need a proper roofer to do it. You will have serious problems inside and out if you leave it like this. Do not pay the person responsible.
