Bathroom Repair/ Replacements

Bathroom is about 13 years old.

I have a worn out concealed shower over bath.
I would like to replace the outlet valve plate mixer and bath spout. They look horrible and just beyond repair.

But its behind tiles so an awkward job.
Every once in a while I get a plumber out to do another small job and enquire and its always been vague and ill get back to you..

So im now thinking the only way of getting it done is potentially having new bath and re tiled and shower mixer.
I would also like a hand hold attachment as well as just over head. But unsure if possible.

Because of the pain of not knowing the potential leak damage behind the wall.
I really now am thinking of changing it to an exposed shower over bath rather than concealed.

Anyone had this done? Is it really that much of a nightmare?
Possible cost?
Finding good not dodgy plumbers is also a must. My worst nightmare is things going wrong after waiting so long.

These bathroom s were not thought about long term, when things start to go wrong or if owners just want to change things!

If you’re worried about hidden damage and future headaches, switching to an exposed shower mixer might be the way to go—it’s much easier to replace or repair later. It could save a lot of stress compared to tearing out tiles to fix a concealed setup

Yes thats what im thinking. Not sure how expensive that would be.
Or how complex.
