Relocating to Bath

We’re considering relocating to Bath with two young children (2&3 years old). Would appreciate any advice on the best areas for young families with good community feel, also primary schools, and access to countryside. Also heard that traffic can be an issue, so wondering if there is a better side of the city to be based? Looking at sports facilities (tennis, swimming incl. warm toddler pool, gym), is the main leisure centre any good? Or would university sports facilities be better? Thanks so much for any advice and recommendations.

What’s your budget, what size house are you looking for, what are your non-negotiables? Will you be working in Bath itself, or traveling outside (and driving, or needing to be close to a station if so?)

Hi ComtesseDeSpair, Thank you so much for your message, so sorry not to have replied until now I have not been very well. Some initial answers to your questions: we're looking for a 4 bed house ideally detached. Main thing for us is an area with a good community feel, and in catchment/close to a good primary school and ideally secondary as well. Just started looking at schools, need to do a lot more research, but this will no doubt dictate the area we choose. Any advice would be gratefully received on the best schools in area. For work, it will be a mix of working from home and travel to Bristol/London, so being able to get to/from the station relatively easily would be helpful, although we both cycle so we don't have to be that close. Thanks again!
