Viewing house after exchange

Has anyone not been allowed to visit the house they are buying between exchange and completion? I’m gutted. I can’t show my children before we move as the owner is apparently away and hasn’t left a key.

That may very well be true. We went on holiday this week, I found out as the plane was leaving the airport that we had exchanged. We returned today and complete on Monday.

It's only a short time between exchange and completion, the children will see it soon.

I would be suspicious as I would want to check all is as the earlier viewing(s).
