Hey everyone, we are in the process of buying a property in Hoo. Although the place looks ok I thought it’ll be good to get opinions on the area? Anyone familiar with the surrounding pls? What are the people like? We are an ethnic minority and young family of 5. Hundred of Hoo school looks good and I guess the closest station would be Strood? thanks

I have a family friend who moved to Hoo with his family 4 years ago from Grove Park, London because they needed a larger house at an affordable price. They paid £410k for a 4 bedroom house not far from The Hundred of Hoo Primary School on the Main Road.

We are from the Ethnic minority as well and they have been an influx of our Ethinicity to Hoo since then. So you wouldn't have any issue mixing with the community.

I don't have much details about the area. But if you will be travelling to London on a regular basis, there's a lot of traffic on the A2 in recent times due to the influx of people to Medway

@chukwe oh that’s lovely, the property we’ve got isn’t too far from the main road too.. that’s nice to hear it’s quite a diverse area.. I think the most important thing for me is to have a welcoming community really, how is the hundred of Hoo primary school? Is it quite good? Wow £410k! I wish I paid that sort of a price lol.. I guess you also live there too?

@Silverbirchleaf honestly you can’t get away from these new build developments these days can you. We pulled out from a property which had plans to have 500 homes not far from it. Luckily I’ve just researched the one you’ve posted, it’s quite a way from were we will be. Are you near the area also?

Not that close, but remembered reading recently about Hoo developments. Definitely worth checking.

No, I live in Bexleyheath, London (Old Kent). But I visit Hoo frequently. I think the Primary school is good. My friend's son went to the school because it was very close to them. He's now in secondary school.

If you've any specific question, I could ask them for you. Also, when you move into your new home, I can introduce you to them

I have family that have lived there for many years.
Also my mum
lived there.
It's become busier over the years with all the new houses, but it is a lovely little village.
