Does anyone know how long this takes? Our solicitors have really dropped the ball. We were meant to exchange on Wednesday and we're told 2 weeks ago everything was in order (we were waiting for our buyer to return from overseas), but it turns out they only requested the redemption statement yesterday afternoon!!
Exchange was originally delayed from Wednesday because our solicitor is on annual leave all week - which he didn't mention- and he hadn't passed along the original paperwork to the covering solicitor, so we needed to reprint and resign and hand deliver that on Wednesday night as they failed to mention this until 4pm!
Frustrated is an understatement and we really want to exchange today. The covering solicitor has called the lender who has received the request for the redemption statement and marked it as urgent. Am I delusional to think we could still exchange today?
