Hi, is anyone aware of any brands making lead-free brass bathroom and kitchen taps etc.?

Lusso Stones states 'lead free' on some of the products. ABI interiors acknowledges lead in its products but for the kitchen tap they also make stainless steel taps with brushed brass look. Studio Ore simply states 'low lead'.

Have you tried asking Francone Bespoke Taps? A lot of their fittings are made to order so perhaps they can do something custom if not part of their standard range.

Brass is made of copper and tin.

Years ago, lead solder was used in assembly of some items, but is not permitted now on pipes or other plumbing fittings.

Branding a tap "lead free" makes as much sense as branding a cake "contains no elephants."

I have no idea what goes on on Chinese factories in stuff that is imported with no brand name and sold in street markets or online, outside normal retail channels.

I found this. Can't find anything about taps. UK and EU are about the same. America has different rules.

"The use of lead solder for jointing copper pipes has been prohibited in plumbing systems which supply water for drinking, cooking or bathing under the Water Fittings Regulations and Byelaws since 1987. Solder containing lead can only be used on water installations not used for drinking, such as closed circuit central heating systems."

"Lead has not been used in water pipes since 1970"

I got my brass bathroom taps and shower etc from just taps. Very happy with the quality.
