Stairs

I need a stair refurb. Actual stairs are ok but banisters and spindles are becoming unsafe. While I’m at it I thought I’d put a door on the space under the stairs.

local carpenter will only do ‘half a job’ and fit basic wood but not make good. I don’t want to get two tradesmen in for one job.

Neville Johnson quoted £11500!

There must be something inbetween the two.

£11,500! Unless you’ve got some sort of palacial staircase / grand designs setup what on earth are they quoting on? Really simple job for DIY with a bit of care. If you don’t want to do the work you might get some joy out of a handyman?

There should be a local staircase company who refurbishes staircases. Or ask local builders because they might have contacts. NJ advertise in glossy magazines. Of course they charge a lot.
