Move to Haywards Heath

I work in London (King's Cross) and looking to move. Hayward's Heath looks a great commute and when I visited seemed friendly with a 'nice' enough town centre (okay, not stunning or pretty) and a sports/gym centre. Is it a good place to live? I've read that it's a bit unexciting, but that's fine as I'm not looking for nightclubs etc and just want a 'safe' place to live (within a mile walking distance to the station) and an easy commute. What are the 'best' areas and anywhere I should avoid buying? (please)
