Would the bank give me joint mortgage with my ex?

My circumstances are a bit unusual but just wondered if anyone could give me a bit of advice.

Me and my ex have been split up for around 18 months we have 2 young children. We both still get on great and he has always spent a lot of time working away and earns a good salary. We still cohabit when he is home for around 8 days a month as I want my kids to have some sense of normalcy. I live in the family home which is jointly mortgaged, he still pays for along with some bills and I pay food shopping, clubs for the kids etc. I am self employed and earn around £15000 a year. My child isn’t settling well at school, I hate my neighbours and I want to move homes for a fresh start for her and to be closer to my family.

I have found a fantastic new build home and my ex is willing to pay the mortgage on this home for me and the kids and keep the arrangement the same. To be able to afford I need his income as well as mine, otherwise I will be stuck in an area I hate.

Would the bank be willing to lend to us jointly even though we are not together?

I know friends or siblings who have bought together so I don't see why not.

Lots of people buy together who are not in a romantic relationship - friends, siblings, investors.
