Defective roof

We had a new mansard extension put in 2 years ago. It has leaked since the beginning. The builders have tried lots of different things, and now acknowledged the gutter was not properly done with fibreglass. Also they put some tape on a join at the back which has stopped the leak. They are now saying they do not want to permanently fix that as they don't have the money and have done this tape fix. We have offered to get another builder to fix it but they pay for it. Thry refuse. What can we do to force them to fix this? What does this mean for any warranty to this v expensive work?!

So frustrated! They've also had to come back and fix the various bad plumbing issues too. At wits end!

Do the builders belong to an accredited Trade Association? If so, they may be able to advise what you can do.

Sounds like a warranty issue so they should fix it for free. Keep pushing the builder on their responsibility.

Thanks, turns out trade bodies are more for the builders rather than any help to consumers.

We are going to push the builder again to propose a way forward, otterwis4 looks like will have to consider small claims court 😪
