Kitchen layout help

Hi all, I have just moved and am looking to renovate the kitchen. I really want a big island however will currently not fit due to previous garage wall between, behind is washing machine and boiler, feel the wall is in the way. Other option is too knock wall through to large lounge (both been extended previously) and have an open plan kitchen/diner/living space. Opinions needed please 🙏

I would personally knock through and wall off the dining room to be the lounge

Then have a big kitchen/diner/day room at the back

i have that and like having the lounge as a cosy room in the evenings away from the kitchen!!

Thanks for your advice, I feel that would be really handy as there are 6 of us in total so be nice to have a social space and private. Do you have pictures?

Not to hand sorry but I have longe at front then loo and utility and then the kitchen space is at the back with doors to garden. Have a lovely big island and utility accessed through kitchen cupboard doors

have distinct spaces for kitchen, dining and lounging and don’t have tv in there. Only 2 stools at island as I wanted a proper dining area

Also I loved the fireplace from the back lounge into the new front lounge - I don’t know if there’s a nice one you’d want to keep
