Just seen another thread and many of the criteria are the same as mine. We are looking for somewhere:

Between W Sussex and Birmingham and easy to get to both ideally.

Small town or village with good amenities like library, post office, village hall, theatre or arts centre if possible

Near a train station with good links

Friendly and welcoming with an active community and low crime

Countryside and walks on doorstep

Traffic and congestion not an issue

Character and charm.

Up to 800,000 for three bed with nice garden , not overlooked and detached .

Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Worcs, possibly Hampshire .

Why not look in either B'ham or West Sussex so you're at least near one of the places, rather than having to travel to both. I'd start with Horsham as it has good rail links.

First, none of those (Hants excepted) are easy to get to West Sussex from.

I would suggest Newbury or Hungerford in Berkshire (both have stations) or Marlborough in Wilts (station a couple of miles away - there's a bus - in Great Bedwyn).

I think you want to live in Wendover.
