Under stairs proper storage

We Live In a house where the stairs go up from the dining area which is open plan with the kitchen.
This area under the stairs is blocked off with a door at the tallest end of the space and has an ikea pigeon hole unit in it with shoes some coats ironing board clothes airer and other bits and pieces in it.
There's a lot of dead space

I was wondering about having it all done properly into cupboards and drawers to make it more usable and hopefully get some of the bigger kitchen bits and bobs in there to create more space in the kitchen cupboards (there really isnt a lot of storage in our kitchen).

Just wondering if anyone has done this and it's worked well etc

Thanks for reading

Although not in the lounge my DD had something similar done in her hall. It looks very plain and boxy but has been a godsend for storage. Have you looked on Instagram for inspiration?

This is in my plan of things to get done. Our quotes ranged from £600-900 but our space is relatively small so for what you’re describing it would be a fair bit more. Probably worth it though to make use of dead space!
