Freestanding kitchen units - yes or no?

Having a new kitchen and have had the designs done. However, we’re now looking at freestanding oak units. Has anyone had these? Any pros or cons to consider? Thanks.

Personal style I suppose. I imagine it also depends on the size of the kitchen, how flexible they are for moving and whether they offer the sort of storage you need.
