Hi all. Looking for some wise MN advice please. Im renovating our small downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom and im going to have the same colour painted in both for ease. I really like green at the min and think it will fit nice with the grey tiles but there's so many to chose from! I was going pistachio but now I like sage, willow tree, tranquil dawn and others! Please help me wise MNers

I’ve got fresh sage Dulux in our shower room.
I love it but it’s quite dark
however the room is quite bright and a good size with large window.
pale grey tiles

Overtly Olive is gorgeous.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 17/09/2025 21:38

@LeafI agree but it was the wrong tone for my room

OP - I’d definitely get a couple of testers especially if you are looking at darker, bolder colours. They can look very different in different rooms as I’m sure you know
This is a glimpse of dulux fresh sage.
its similar to F&B card room green I think
this room is south facing

Hi all. Thanks so much for your ideas and pic! My downstairs toilet doesn't have a window so maybe I do need to go a little lighter then?

My BIL is our painter and decorator (pro) and prefer dulux to any but will use any of course.

If you want something lighter Tranquil Dawn is a nice colour. I have it in a bedroom.

Thank you! Would it go nicely with light grey tiles?

I definitely think so as I have a light grey carpet in the bedroom it’s in as well as light grey curtains. You can buy small tester pots too.

These are the Dulux bathroom range from B&Q. One is teal, one is Willow and I can't remember the name of the other one. I painted over a grey wall so that's the background colour. I went for the lighter shade.

Make sure you test first OP, you need to work out of your grey is cool or warm and then match the green accordingly or it will look very off.

DH Grass Green by Dulux Heritage. It's the perfect mid shade of green. They will colour match a non-heritage paint (ie. Diamond Matt or Kitchen and Bathroom) if you don't want the chalky finish in a bathroom.

Agree with working out if your grey is warm or cold so go for a tester pot with anything. Plus I generally go towards a slightly lighter shade than darker if unsure as when a whole wall is painted, it can look a lot more overpowering than a small test patch.

Get the Dulux app and have a virtual painting session before you commit to the real stuff.
Then go to a Dulux decorator centre and get them to mix the paint for you.

Hi thanks all for the feedback. Not a big fan in the downstairs loo but upstairs where there's natural light i love it. I went for the picassio creme
