For our buyers mortgage offer - I asked if they were happy and they said “it’s difficult to say. I do that bit when I get back to the office” is this normal?

When we had our prospective house purchase valued they told our vendor it was fine as they were leaving.

Can't speak to mortgage valuers, but when I asked my RICS building surveyor's firm to provide a sample valuation report, there were six or more different sources (iirc) that they took pricing information from. Half of which I had never heard of or have access to. So, they're probably just being a bit cautious before they do the back office box ticking exercise.

Thank you. I hope that’s the case. We
are selling for significantly more than we purchased but we’ve done significant renovations and we negotiated a good purchase price because other buyers didn’t have the capital for renovations. We’re not actually making money, just breaking even.

Our Building Society surveyor for our FTBs was lovely, asked a few questions but said he couldn’t tell me anything.
We heard all was OK via the EA a few days later and earlier than he said.
As PP says they use sources to look at sold prices in the area.

@24Dogcuddler that’s reassuring- my vendor text me after ours and said it’s fine you’ll get your offer later, so I was unnerved when this valour said she couldn’t say.
