They say first impressions count. What makes you instantly look at a house (passing by) and think 'that's a nice house'

For me it’s the architecture
I wouldn’t buy new or revival styles ie fake Tudor
Most other things can be changed

Architecture for me too! Interesting old features - such as windows, doors, porches, weathered beams and period door furniture all contribute to the overall look. Beautiful climbing plants set the scene too - think an ancient wisteria scrambling across the facade of a characterful property ❤️

Clean, tidy, obviously well maintained. Some curb appeal, even if that's just in the form of some nice planting/pots.

and mature trees because most of us would never live long enough to see a newly planted tree mature

I wish you’d tell the people across the road. They want half a Million and it looks abandoned. Weeds in the block paving and around the edges. No curb appeal whatsoever.
