Space consultant/ love it or list it / maximizing house space

We live in a 3 bed semi. Has potential to go into loft. Area ok. Mortgage small and we have one child so space is big enough. House doesn’t really flow despite my ( limited) interior design vision but think there is potential to spend a bit of money on it to make it work rather than maxing out on mortgage to move a few streets round the corner but need some help with vision! Any recommendations?

Sounds like you’d benefit from an architect. Or look on your local planning portal for plans to similar houses to see if there’s any layouts you like.

Is this a thing? Because I'm really good at it and looking for a career change. I don't live in the UK I'm afraid OP, but interested if this is a real job, or just the kind of thing the wives of finance guys do to pass the time, but don't make any actual money.

Have you considered asking Chat GPT to help? You can upload photos of your rooms as they are currently and ask it to redesign them for you to maximise floor space, or storage, or whatever other elements you think are lacking at the moment. It might not give you perfect results but it could spark some ideas.
