Bellway - flooring costs and quality?

I am buying a new build. To help things when moving in, I am thinking of looking at their flooring options. This means I could floor all of downstairs, move into downstairs only, and the day after I move in have carpet fitter of my choice do upstairs.
I am yet to have the sales pitch over flooring, and I fully expect it to be RRP not the remnants etc that my supplier has got for me before.

  • HOW expensive are we talking? I am wanting either engineered wood floor or maybe good LVT throughout downstairs (apart from sitting room), likely just one colour/pattern.
  • What quality are the carpet and hard floor options? I prefer a carpet with some wool in/wool carpet and which will last well. My current carpets are a decade old and in showing people my old house a few asked if they were all new....

No experience with Bellway but I’d prefer to get the flooring fitted myself. My neighbours got their flooring from our developer and had terrible trouble with the fitting - they are sure the downstairs is not the wood effect they chose and for some reason the fitter did all the rooms in different directions! Plus you don’t get as many options as choosing yourself.

I just went with a local company and am really happy with my floors. They do so many new builds they didn’t even have to come to measure to do my quote and they fitted the day I got the keys.
