Spraying/painting uPVC front door

We have an elderly white uPVC front door, two panes of obscure glass. It’s boring. I like red for a front door. Very tempted to try painting it myself, I know there are specialist paints for uPVC, but worried I’ll make it look worse than it is now, and regret it.

Has anyone painted their uPVC front door, either themselves or using a spraying company?

Was it easy to do? Was the finish ok afterwards? Was it worth it?

I painted our white UPVC door about 10 years ago (red!). I found some paint for UPVC doors in B&Q. It looked ok. I can’t tell you how well it lasted because we replaced our doors with composite ones about 3 years later.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads Do you remember if it was relatively easy to do, or was there lots of steps?

I just painted it on like wall paint.
I have no patience for prep!

Go on Frenchic site on Facebook
lots of people have painted theirs(pics also) and even window frames plus many other items

Doing ours has been on my long list of jobs for aaaages after someone on here did theirs a few years ago. I detest our door. I’ve had a look for Frenchic’s fb page, thank you @Mancity08

Do you paint the inside too? I’d assume so but you never get an inside photo!

You didn’t sand yours first @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads?

I’m going to finally do it before the weather properly turns. Keep us posted OP?
