Our architect is useless but we’re stuck with them for now so with their 10 day turn around for answers I thought I’d post here to get some rough ideas as we’re trying to work out finances for our extension and loft conversion!

We’re semi detached doing a 3m extension under permitted development and a loft conversion…… our neighbour is an old family friend and not bothered but we still need a party wall agreement as she won’t be there forever or is it just if anything is damaged during the works?

We’re a bit clueless so could anyone give me a rough idea of price and how long it’ll take to get drawn up! As hoping to work out the financials this week!!

Architect here 🤣🤣

You need a party wall surveyor
Google Party wall Awards and some surveyors even have prices online or give them a ring

Cost very approx £1/2000. It depends if the neighbours don’t agree with the proposal. Then you have more costs in paying for their PWS and another third PWS if the two don’t agree
Time wise. How long is a piece of string. Drgs have to be done but you can’t expect that to happen immediately then neighbours have to respond.

Ps. I’d give yourself 3 months before you want to start works from issue to neighbour. ( Two months stat )
