Hi everyone, we are buying a new build

I know how long is a piece of string, but, we’ve been an anticipated completion date of the 10th of September, house is at the end of the 2nd fix. Is there likely to be a delay on this at this stage? Has anyone experienced this?

the whole process has been a total chew on, and really need to start getting organised 😫

You can only cross your fingers really. Schedules and delays vary from developer to developer and also from site to site. Who are you buying from ?

My experience of stuff like this is that is it much more usual for schedules to be too ambitious and run late than it is for them to run early.

But it often depends on cashflow.

Oh I agree, but it’s already ran late from the start of July which was our original date. It’s been pushed back constantly but never this close so I’m hoping this is it now.

I took their ‘final’ completion date in good faith and gave notice on our lovely interim rental house. Ended up living with my mother-in-law for six very long weeks. Don’t be me.

I’ve taken it with a pinch of salt each time it’s been pushed back but we’ve never got this close (4 weeks!) snd they’re still sticking to it, so I’m feeling a bit more hopeful

We got in on the 12th of September. You are supposed to get 10 days notice for completion and we got 12 hours 🤣 it made me incredibly anxious, it really can go either way! I think it was about 4 weeks after 2nd fix
