Just came across this while I was aimlessly browsing.

Stunning location, just glorious and rugged and wild. Building itself isn't so bad, with the curved barrel roofs it is a bit reminiscent of a cluster of farm outbuildings so not as much of a blot on the landscape as it could have been. But the inside can only be compared to Trump's 'updated' oval office. Photo 11 made me go Shock. And what's going on in photo 25? Part wine cellar, part church? I mean, what would you actually do in that room with two hard chairs, a small table and a shed load of champagne?

Is there taxidermy dogs at the end of a bed in one photo or am I just very tired?

Microwaveexpert · 12/08/2025 21:53

And a penguin to greet you?!

I think they're ceramic or possibly painted metal.

I think it is ghastly for the most part. I don’t think even Michael Flatley would buy something so utterly vulgar.

YouWillFindMeInTheGarden · 12/08/2025 22:00

Only 4 bedrooms though?

and it’s not very cosy, bet it’s freezing!

Ihearyoubarkingbigdog · 12/08/2025 22:01

Owned by a wealthy American businessman according to t’internet. The decor is horrific but the views are stunning

The floor plan is worth a good look too. It's so... random.

BrandyandGinger · 12/08/2025 22:04

Could it be the house Fr Ted bought with the money that was resting in his account? It makes sense because it's in Co. Clare and he put in a pool for Dougal.

WonderingWanda · 12/08/2025 22:05

The first one couldn't look more like a Bond villains lair if it tried!

No one can hear you scream...

shellyleppard · 12/08/2025 22:06

Looks lovely but you would forever be cleaning....

Givemethesun · 12/08/2025 22:06

I’m intrigued by these links and who’d want to live so remote……

RafaistheKingofClay · 12/08/2025 22:12

Particular fan of the soulless paved outdoor area with a window in the wall in case you want to be reminded what grass and other natural things look like.

Dabberlocks · 12/08/2025 22:13

That's going to be an interesting place to live come some heavy winter storms blowing in off the Atlantic.

Way too bleak for me - and I'm not all that keen on the outside of the house either.

The champagne room is clearly for making shady business deals as this building is clearly decorated by the mob / Irish mafia or a pirate.

Proof that money doesn’t buy taste. In every way, awful!

MagpieCastle · 12/08/2025 22:37

Wow! Craggy island on steroids. So this where Father Ted spent all the money that was 'only resting in his account'. Mrs Doyle might approve of those faux church style ceilings in the kitchen when she's making her endless cups of tea.

Gallivant · 12/08/2025 22:52

Those shiny floors set my teeth on edge.

It'd make a perfect set for an amateur production of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

myplace · 13/08/2025 08:13

Whatever did you say, @TheGreatWesternShrew ?! I was here and don’t remember anything dramatic!
